Alarmun Support
Important: Alarmun is a voice-controlled alarm app that uses Apple's AlarmKit framework. For issues with alarms not working, please include your iOS version, device model, and steps to reproduce the problem. All voice processing happens locally on your device.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why isn't my alarm going off?
Check these settings:
- Device is not in Do Not Disturb mode
- Alarm volume is turned up
- Microphone permission is granted (Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone > Alarmun)
- Speech recognition permission is granted (Settings > Alarmun)
- AlarmKit permission is granted (Settings > Alarmun)
- Device is running iOS 26.0 or later
- App is not force-closed (alarms may not work if app is terminated)
- Device has sufficient battery
- Live Activities are enabled (Settings > Alarmun)
If issues persist, try restarting your device and reinstalling the app.
How do I set up voice dismissal?
To use voice commands to dismiss alarms:
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone
- Enable microphone access for Alarmun
- Go to Settings > Alarmun
- Grant speech recognition permission
- Enable Live Activities for Alarmun
- Create an alarm and set your custom phrase
- Test the phrase before saving
Note: Voice processing happens entirely on your device. No audio data is sent to servers.
Why can't I create more than 2 alarms?
The free version is limited to 2 alarms. To unlock unlimited alarms:
- Open Alarmun
- Go to Settings
- Tap "Upgrade to Premium"
- Choose your subscription plan
- Complete purchase through App Store
Premium features include unlimited alarms and all 142 phrase categories.
How do I restore my purchases?
If premium features aren't showing after purchase:
- Open Alarmun
- Go to Settings
- Tap "Restore Purchases"
- Wait for verification
- Premium features should activate automatically
If this doesn't work, contact Apple Support or email us with your purchase receipt.
The app says it requires iOS 26.0 or later
Alarmun uses Apple's AlarmKit framework, which is only available on iOS 26.0+:
- Check your iOS version: Settings > General > About
- If you're on iOS 25 or earlier, update your iOS
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update
- Install the latest iOS version
- Alarmun does not support iOS versions below 26.0
How does iCloud sync work?
Alarmun uses iCloud to sync your custom phrases and categories across devices:
- Sign in to iCloud on your device (Settings > Apple ID > iCloud)
- Enable iCloud Drive
- Your custom phrase categories will automatically sync
- Premium purchases sync across your devices
- Alarms themselves are managed locally for reliability
Note: If sync isn't working, check your iCloud storage and connection.
What are Live Activities?
Live Activities show alarm information on your lock screen and Dynamic Island:
- Enable Live Activities in Settings > Alarmun
- You'll see alarm countdown on lock screen
- Tap to quickly dismiss or snooze alarms
- Use voice commands directly from lock screen
- Works with Focus modes and Do Not Disturb
Note: Live Activities require iOS 26.0+ and may not work if battery is low.
How do I choose from the 142 phrases?
When creating an alarm:
- Tap the phrase field
- Browse through categories: Morning Grump, Morning Blues, Fairies & Sweets, Tongue Twisters, Haiku, Bright Spirit, and more
- Select a phrase or write your own
- Test the phrase before saving
- Premium unlocks all categories and unlimited custom phrases
Free version includes basic phrases. Premium unlocks all 142+ phrases and categories.
The app crashes or freezes
Try these solutions:
- Force quit the app: Swipe up from the bottom edge and hold, then swipe Alarmun away
- Restart your device
- Update to the latest iOS version (26.0 or later required)
- Delete and reinstall the app
- Check available storage space
- Reset Location & Privacy settings if permissions are corrupted
If crashes persist, contact us with details about when they occur.
I can't hear the alarm sound
Check these audio settings:
- Device volume is turned up
- Ringer volume is not muted
- Do Not Disturb is disabled
- Silent switch is off (if applicable)
- Bluetooth headphones are connected and working
- No other apps are using the audio system
Speech recognition isn't working
Ensure proper setup:
- Microphone permission is granted
- Speech recognition permission is granted
- Speak clearly and at normal volume
- Use the exact phrase you set
- Try in a quiet environment
- Check if Siri is working on your device
