Popogode. What to wear today
A weather app that refuses to show you the weather. Type a city, say whether you feel the cold, and it tells you what to put on.
Every weather app answers a question nobody asks. Eleven degrees and a twenty percent chance of rain is data, and turning it into a jacket is left as an exercise for the reader at eight in the morning. Popogode does that step instead and shows only the result.
The heading is the actual problem, stated the way it gets said out loud: Мне нечего надеть — I have nothing to wear.
Eleven degrees is data. A jacket is an answer.
Two buttons of calibration
It works from the feels-like temperature rather than the reading, and then adds the one variable a forecast cannot know: whether you personally are cold. Choosing Я мерзляк over Мне норм subtracts five degrees before anything else happens — the whole of the personalisation, and honestly about as much as the question deserves.
The advice runs in bands from below minus forty up past plus thirty-five, and each band is a sentence rather than a list. Somewhere around zero it stops giving instructions and starts making suggestions about staying in with a blanket, which is the tone the whole thing was written in.
