Drive up → Fill up → Indicate in the app which station and pump number → Pay.
Sounds perfect, and I've already gotten used to using it and can say that not wasting time in line and walking is perfect.
Here's my story of how I evolved to fill up without problems.
First meeting with Yandex. Gas Stations.Drove up. Opened the app. Read what I needed to do (start filling up). Filled up, told the app that it was me who filled up. About to pay. I can choose Yandex.Money or card. I have little cash. I choose card. I thought Yandex.Money would link my cards. Nope. They're not in the list. I see a field to add a new card. Looking in my wallet for my card. Start entering. It tells me only Mastercard is supported. I have VISA facepalm.jpg . Gave up. Went to pay by card. Asked the cashiers about the app. Nobody knows. Briefly told them. Left.
Second attempt.
Topped up my Yandex.Money. Good thing, just through Apple Pay.
Same movements: drove up, filled up, confirmed in the app that it's my pump and ready to pay. Pressed "Pay."
Waiting. Waiting. Waiting for payment to go through. I notice that I need to select payment method. (I, having topped up Yandex.Money, was confident that this method would be selected by default, and besides, I pressed "Pay", not "Choose payment method".
Selected Yandex.Money and quickly paid. Cool!
But I'm honest. Drove away. Went to the cashier. Shouted at the entrance: "Did payment go through at pump six?" Operator says: "Huh? How? Nothing here. How did it go through?" (Employees don't know this payment method exists). Nothing shows at the cashier. I started explaining, so like, the app, electronic receipt. Suddenly the operator yelled that it might show up elsewhere and went to the back room, from where he yelled that payment was successful. Thanked me for the enlightenment and we said goodbye.
Third time.Same as the second time but I didn't go to the cashier. Told the gas station attendant that I'm not leaving just like that, I already paid. He asked when I managed to go to the cashier... Anyway, I told him about the innovation and showed the receipt on my phone. He was delighted and I left.
Almost ideal processNeed to minimize interaction with the app. If only they'd put some kind of marker on the pump that your phone could recognize. Like this:
Got out → Filled up ⇢ At this time the phone catches a signal from the marker and shows the amount, liters, and pay button on screen → Pressed and done.
Of course I forwarded all this to support
