Black makes swing seats unbearably hot in warm weather. Sitting on them is next to impossible. So why are they black everywhere (the rubber ones)?
The reason is that they are made from caoutchouc, and to give it shape and strength manufacturers use carbon black — soot, in plain terms — and that is black. Making a colored seat is harder and more expensive.
As alternatives: plastic (cheaper and simpler, though perhaps less durable) or wood (expensive, needs long processing, but eco-friendly and long-lasting).
